Rehabilitated collection center delivered to strengthen agribusiness in Anzoátegui

With a storage capacity of twenty tons of food, the comprehensive rehabilitation of the “Hugo Chávez” Collection Center, located in the José Antonio Anzoátegui Municipal Market in Tronconal III in Barcelona, was delivered as a key project to promote agro-industry and the state's communal economy.

The regional president, Luis José Marcano, reopened the facilities together with the president of the Regional Supply Corporation of the state of Anzoátegui (Creanz), Antonio Guzmán. During the event, Marcano highlighted that this work optimizes the link between producers, entrepreneurs and consumers in the commercial area. He also announced a first: “We are going to strengthen with an extraordinary comprehensive transformation project for the year 2027 together with the Mayor's Office of Barcelona”.

The enclosure has a capacity to store up to 20 tons of food and its structure includes four modules specialized in refrigeration, preservation and freezing of red meat, chicken and fish, as well as storage of charcuterie products, fruits, vegetables, groceries, basic consumer products and an exclusive section for the deposting of meat products.

As part of strategic agreements to boost the communal economy, the center offers merchants in the market the rental service of these equipment. The initiative seeks to reduce intermediary costs and guarantee optimal conditions for the preservation of food.

“Today, we have come to hand over this recovered space and to ratify our commitment to continue investing, until we turn it into a market that is truly competitive, that offers a variety of services for the population and is of benefit to those who carry out their activities as merchants and entrepreneurs,” said Marcano.
