This Thursday, July 9, a group of professionals who are experts in risks inspected the stability of the Los Ruices and Los Dos Caminos elevations after the double earthquake of last June 24.
This is a structural evaluation that is combined with the work carried out in residences and premises in the Sucre municipality of Miranda state.
Jennifer Pacheco, a leading civil engineer, explained that based on the route, it was determined that the lift is in stable condition of use but must still be maintained. “Corrective maintenance must be carried out to improve the structure based on the elements that compose it so that vehicles can be allowed to flow with peace of mind for the population.”
For his part, the director of Civil Protection and Disaster Management of the Sucre municipality, Leonardo Vegas, explained that from the moment of the double earthquake, a special device was activated throughout the territory, evaluating all structures to provide peace of mind to the population and check these sites. “So far what we have located is damage to masonry, that is, of an artificial type,” he concluded.
In addition, the evaluation of the Los Dos Caminos elevation was carried out, which must also be maintained after seismic movements, without major damage to its structures.
