Roadmap drawn up for the First Joint Commission between Venezuela and South Africa

For the consolidation of ties of friendship and cooperation between Venezuela and South Africa, at the headquarters of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, in Pretoria, the road map was drawn up for the holding of the First Binational Joint Commission.

In addition to sharing analyses of the respective national situations and international geopolitics, the meeting reviewed the bilateral agenda, the agreements under negotiation and the cooperation projects in the energy, culture, education, trade, popular power, agriculture, fishing, housing and sports sectors, among others.

During the meeting between the Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel, on the Venezuelan side; and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, Alvin Botes, on the South African side, the first meeting of the Political Consultation Mechanism was held, according to the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Foreign Ministries signed in 2007.

At the end of the meeting, both parties emphasized their commitment to working together to grow bilateral relations, in order to consolidate a strategic alliance of shared interests.
