Roberto Quijada and Yoleidys Fernández won gold and silver at the ITTF World Future Chile 2025

Venezuelan parathletes Roberto Quijada and Yoleidys Fernández won gold and silver medals, respectively, at the ITTF World Future Chile 2025.
Quijada won the gold medal in the individual class 3 category. He started with a 3-set-to-1 victory against Argentinian Marcelo López, then repeated the victory with a hard-fought 3-2 against the Amazonian Fabio Silva.
In this way, the Venezuelan advanced to the semifinals of the contest where he beat Uruguayan Gonzalo Acosta with a solid 3-0 and scored an absolute 3-1 victory against Brazil's Silva, according to the Ministry of Sport press.
Meanwhile, Yoleidys Fernández won the silver medal in women's class 4. He began his participation with a 3-2 win against Argentina's Soledad Kuell and added other 3-0 victories against Chile's Belén Fuentes and Aylin Millalen, however he yielded 3-0 to Chile's representative and group 1 leader Tamara Leonelli.
The ITTF World Future Chile 2025 adds points to the world ranking that defines the classification of the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
