The National Theater Company (CNT) and the National Book Center (CENAL) began theRodolfo Santana 2025” dramaturgy workshops, a free initiative aimed at promoting the training of more than 500 new playwrights in various regions of Venezuela.

The initiative, which is part of the Venezuelan Theater Festival, takes place continuously until December in face-to-face and virtual modalities, in order to guarantee a wide national reach.

The training program was inaugurated with two virtual master classes that brought together more than 40 participants from all over the country. The first, on “The Dramatic Conflict”, was dictated by Maestro Rodolfo Porras, while the second, by Maestro Aníbal Grunn, focused on the formal aspects of theatrical writing.

The virtual modality has also consolidated its reach with specialized workshops led by leading figures: Benjamín Farías, from the East, taught the first class on “Dramaturgy of Historical Theater”. From Caracas, José Gregorio Cabello began the workshop on children's dramaturgy and teacher Ligia Álvarez began training that addresses dramaturgy and poetry.

In Caracas, the training offer is completed with two highly relevant face-to-face workshops: “The Dramatic Conflict”, will be given by teacher Rodolfo Porras and will begin on Wednesday, October 29 at the Museum of Architecture. The second, “Formal Aspects of Writing Plays”, taught by Maestro Aníbal Grunn, at the Alberto de Paz y Mateos Theater.
