This Tuesday, April 2, from the floor of the National Assembly (AN), the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, recalled that in 2014 the right wing carried out a chapter of violence that left 43 dead and 878 injured, which evidences the need for the presentation of the Bill against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions.
In taking the floor to explain the need for this legal tool, the Vice President stressed that “it is important to remember the events that have taken place in the last 25 years in the country (...) In 2014, there was an episode of violence called La Salida (on the part of the right) whose actions were accumulated and duly certified by the Truth Commission, created at the time for that purpose”.
He stressed that these were terrible episodes, “when we saw Venezuelans who were burned alive because of their skin color, political and social phenotype, the most sensitive fiber of this People and Republic shook. The most emblematic case was that of Orlando Figuera, a 21-year-old boy who was viciously murdered and burned alive.”
