Rodríguez: The Organic Law on Electoral Processes cannot be modified 6 months before an election

The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez emphasized that the only law that cannot be amended 6 months before an electoral event is called, is the Organic Law on Electoral Processes.

Only the Organic Law on Electoral Processes, can all other laws be reviewed and can be addressed within the framework of the dialogue that is taking place. The Special Electoral Commission of the National Assembly is still working,” Rodríguez explained.

During a press conference, after a working meeting of the Special Electoral Committee of the National Assembly (AN) with the authority of the National Electoral Council (CNE) , he pointed out that despite the fact that there is quite a A conglomerate of rules to govern the elections of this year 2025, it is likely that the Commission will submit a set of proposals to the electoral power and that they, together with us, will bring it to the plenary of the National Assembly.

He also recalled that the Law and the Organic Law on Electoral Processes indicates what are the requirements to be a candidate and are those established in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
