The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, indicated that the Parliament is declaring itself in permanent session to define proposals on the 2025 Electoral Schedule.

“From these working meetings, I propose that we declare ourselves in permanent session because there is no time because we have to make all the elections that are established and whatever comes from here, bring these proposals to the National Electoral Council (CNE), which is the only entity that is empowered to call elections and carry out electoral schedules,” Rodríguez emphasized during a meeting with different representatives of political parties in the country.

He emphasized that this year Mayors, Governors and Deputies will be elected to the National Assembly, among others, as established by the Magna Carta.

Venezuela has not stopped holding, at the time of the V Republic, it has not stopped holding a single one of the elections that are based on constitutional obligations, we are in the presence of a particularly rich year in terms of elections,” he said.

He pointed out that the methodology can be carried out in three working groups to move forward quickly as in previous years.

“But the only suggestion I would like to make in this case is that we establish proposals for election dates that allow the voter to take stock of the electoral event itself. I think it's a little inconvenient if we hit all the elections and you imagine the voter faced with the scenario that he has to choose his deputy, that he has to choose his mayor, that he has to choose his councilors, that he has to choose his governors; imagine the electoral process and that election, but there will be others who want mega-elections, so we have to define,” he said.
