The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has expressed its support for the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, who has assumed the position of interim president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by decision of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).

In its official statement, Russia stressed that this appointment guarantees the continuity of the constitutional order, preserves the institutional structure of the State and helps to contain the risks of destabilization in a context of external threats. The statement stresses that the measure reinforces the conditions for the country's political and social development, in accordance with its domestic legislation.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs applauded the efforts of the Venezuelan authorities to protect sovereignty and national interests, reiterating their willingness to continue supporting Venezuela and defending respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations. He also reiterated that Latin America and the Caribbean must remain a zone of peace and sovereign development.
