Russia calls US pressure on Venezuela unacceptable

This Thursday, the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, said during a press conference at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), that the pressure of the United States (US) Government on Venezuela is unacceptable.
“The West's action against nations that want to apply their own policy is absolutely unacceptable; pressure is being openly exerted against Venezuela on all fronts,” said the official.
Zajárova added that the current escalation of tensions surrounding Venezuela implies a danger to regional and global security.
According to information detailed by Telesur, the US Secretary of Defense, Peter Hegseth, told a US channel that it is up to President Donald Trump to decide whether or not to seek a change of government in Venezuela.
On August 7, the Attorney General of the United States, Pamela Bondi, announced a reward of 50 million dollars for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Following the announcement by the US prosecutor, Washington ordered the deployment of several naval assets in the Caribbean under the pretext of counteracting drug cartel activity in the region.
