Russia confirms support for Venezuela in the face of a US threat in the Caribbean

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zajárova, stated this Thursday that her country is coordinating with the Venezuelan authorities and is willing to meet their requirements in situations that compromise regional stability.

During a press conference, Zakharova indicated that Moscow will continue to cooperate with Caracas within the framework of the strategic association treaty, depending on current and future challenges. He added that the support includes joint actions aimed at preserving the autonomy of the Venezuelan State, Sputnik reported.

Since August, the United States has deployed ships and armed military personnel in areas of the Caribbean close to Venezuela, as part of its war action against a sovereign people.
