Russia expressed its solidarity with Venezuela in the face of an escalation of the United States war

The Russian Government reaffirmed its solidarity with the People of Venezuela in the face of the growing threats of invasion from the United States (USA), according to information published on the Sputnik web portal.

The message of support was expressed by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, during a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador to Russia, Jesús Salazar Velásquez, at which issues related to the deepening of strategic partnership relations between the two countries were discussed.

“Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed his solidarity with the Government and the People of Venezuela in the face of growing external threats and attempts to interfere in internal affairs, as well as his unconditional support for Caracas's efforts to defend national sovereignty,” said the Venezuelan.

It was also known that the Russian minister stressed that Moscow advocates “maintaining Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace” and presented the Venezuelan ambassador with the Russian decoration, Order of Friendship.
