Russia reaffirmed its support for Nicolás Maduro's actions to protect the sovereignty of Venezuela

The Russian government reaffirmed its support for the efforts being made by President Nicolás Maduro to protect the sovereignty and interests of Venezuela in the face of U.S. aggression.

“We reaffirm our support for the efforts of the Government of Nicolás Maduro to protect his sovereignty and national interests and to maintain the stable and secure development of his country,” said the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in statements collected by the RT news agency.

In this regard, Zajarova assured that Latin America must be a zone of peace, so she advocated a de-escalation of U.S. aggressions against our country.

“We constantly advocate for the relaxation of the current situation and for maintaining trust and predictability. It is important to prevent a destructive scenario, and we hope that U.S. President Trump's inherent pragmatism and rationality will allow for mutually acceptable solutions within the framework of international law,” he said.
