The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, confirmed that relations between Moscow and Caracas maintain a stable working path with ongoing projects.
“We have our own bilateral relations, a series of initiatives whose continuity interests us, as well as investments in Venezuela,” he said.
Peskov indicated that both capitals agree to give priority to expanding their cooperation. “For Venezuela too, based on what we received from Caracas, advancing mutually beneficial ties with Russia is a priority issue,” he said.
The statements came after the bombing launched by the United States in early January that ended with the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.
Several governments condemned the operation, including Russia, which reiterated that Venezuela “must have the right to decide its destiny without outside intervention” and called for the release of the president.
Moscow recalled that, in May 2025, presidents Vladimir Putin and Nicolás Maduro signed the strategic partnership and cooperation agreement, an instrument that establishes areas of collaboration and guides long-term relations between the two countries, RT reported.
