The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, held a conversation this Sunday with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, who reaffirmed his position of principle of rejection and condemnation of terrorism in all its manifestations.

“It is essential that the fight against terrorist threats does not have such harmful consequences for the civilian population,” reads the text of the statement published by the Kremlin, the seat of the Russian government.

In addition, the Russian president assured that his country is willing to “provide all possible help to alleviate the suffering of civilians and de-escalate the conflict,” says the RT portal.

This meeting is the first conversation between the two leaders since October 16 when they expressed their interest in “continuing to cooperate in the evacuation of Russian citizens and members of their families, as well as in the release of Israelis held in Gaza”, while they agreed to “continue contacts”, indicates the Russian website.

In turn, the Israeli Prime Minister's press office stated that during the talks, Netanyahu “expressed his dissatisfaction with the position of Russian representatives at the UN and other forums in relation to Israel.”

On the other hand, the Prime Minister of the Jewish country expressed his gratitude to Russia for its efforts to free a Russian-Israeli citizen and assured that “Israel will use all means, both political and military” to release all the hostages, the press office said.
