The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced in New Delhi, the capital of India, that his country will continue to guarantee the constant supply of fuel to this nation, in the framework of a joint statement issued after his official meeting with local authorities.
Putin stressed that large bilateral projects are being financed and that cooperation in the energy sector is progressing with positive results. He stressed that Russia maintains its role as a secure provider of resources and reiterated its willingness to support the flow of fuel for the expanding Indian economy, according to a press release from International Media.
The Russian head of state stated that energy collaboration is not limited to hydrocarbons, and highlighted the construction of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, considered the largest in the Asian country. He explained that its full operation will reinforce the supply of electricity and will meet the demand of companies and households.
He also indicated that both countries are making progress in the use of their national currencies in commercial transactions, already reaching a share of 96%. He recalled that financial and banking mechanisms have been consolidated to support this transition.
Finally, Putin stressed that the talks took place in a productive climate and that current issues of bilateral relations, as well as global and regional issues, were analyzed in detail. It reaffirmed the nature of the strategic partnership that unites Russia and India.
“Today, with the participation of the delegation, we examined in depth and detail the entire set of current issues related to multifaceted cooperation between Russia and India, and we exchanged views on current global and regional issues,” said Putin.
