The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, issued a statement following the Ukrainian government's deadly attack on Russian doctors in the Russian province of Kherson.

“In the context of the negotiations held on 23 and 24 January in Abu Dhabi, in which representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine participated to resolve the conflict, the Kiev regime and its Armed Forces committed another barbaric crime against the civilian population of our country. We strongly condemn the deliberate attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against civilians,” said the diplomat in information on the Russia Today portal,

Zakharova stressed that this act of violence represents a step towards the escalation of the conflict and highlights Kiev's “true, that is, absolutely irresponsible” attitude towards resolution efforts. “We remember that attacks against civilian medical transport are prohibited by international humanitarian law,” he emphasized.

“We demand that the competent international institutions carry out an objective and impartial evaluation of this and other crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis,” the diplomat stressed, adding that “silence and complacency in the face of such acts of the Kiev regime are unacceptable.”
