Russia is preparing to launch a personalized cancer vaccine in 2025, said Alexander Guintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

The news, replicated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, states that the vaccine was developed in collaboration with the Sirius University of Science and Technology and Russian cancer centers, the vaccine will use messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to train the immune system to identify and attack malignant cells.

Each dose will be designed specifically for each patient, recognizing that no two tumors are the same.

The vaccine is currently undergoing preclinical testing on animals, with human clinical trials scheduled for September 2025. Guintsburg anticipates that the cost of each dose will be approximately 300,000 rubles ($3,000), although it is expected to be free for Russian citizens.
