The Russian Federation asked the United Nations (UN) to take steps to exclude data on minors hosted on the Ukrainian website Mirotvorets.
The Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights prepared an appeal addressed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk.
“We ask you to take measures within your competence and to contact the Ukrainian authorities with the demand to exclude data about children from this database,” details the Russian agency.
It also clarifies that Kiev accuses minors of conscious “Russian aggression”, of “attacking the sovereignty of Ukraine and violating state borders”. In addition, the agency alleged that the publication of personal data of minors in open access violates their rights.
Previously, the UN also urged the exclusion of a five-year-old child from the Mirotvorets database, as stated by the spokesperson for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OACHNUDH), Liz Throssell.
