This Tuesday, the Russian Federation urged the opposition in Venezuela to admit its defeat in the presidential elections of July 28 and warned of attempts to destabilize from outside.

Speaking to the press, presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov said: “We see that the opposition does not want to resign itself to its defeat, but we believe that it should do so and congratulate the winner of these elections.”

“It is extremely important that third countries stop encouraging attempts to destabilize the situation in Venezuela, and that there is no external interference in Venezuela,” he added.

Governments of Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay refused to recognize the democratic re-election of Nicolás Maduro, which has already led to the announcement of the immediate withdrawal of diplomatic personnel.

The candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole, Simón Bolívar (GPPSB), obtained 51.2 percent of the votes, compared to 44.2 percent of Edmundo González, of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD, center), who have ignored the results.
