Russian President reaffirms that he will fully comply with possible peace agreement with Ukraine

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, declared this Friday that Moscow will fully comply with a possible peace agreement with Ukraine at the Eastern Economic Forum hosted by the city of Vladivostok, in the south-east of the country, from September 3 to 6

“If an agreement (with Ukraine) is reached that will lead to lasting peace (...) no one should doubt that he will comply with it in its entirety,” said the Russian president, adding that security guarantees must be developed both for Russia and for the government of Volodimir Zelensky and warned that so far no one has seriously discussed the issue with Moscow.

The Russian leader stressed that Ukraine's security cannot be guaranteed at Russia's expense. “There is a general rule contained in European documents: the security of one country cannot be guaranteed to the detriment of the security of another,” he stressed.
