Russian President thanks UAE for capturing the perpetrator of the attack on a military leader

This Sunday, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, thanked his Emirati counterpart, Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, for his collaboration in the capture of the criminal who tried to assassinate General Vladimir Alekseyev.

The Kremlin, in a statement issued by the president, stressed that both leaders praised effective cooperation with intelligence agencies and the assistance of the United Arab Emirates side to arrest a suspect in the terrorist attack against the director of the Ministry of Defense.

“The heads of state also continued to discuss the issues that were on the agenda during the recent visit of the Emirati president to Moscow,” the text says.

This Sunday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the arrest of the attacker, a Russian citizen identified as Liubomir Korba, born in 1960.

“Korba was detected by surveillance cameras at the scene of the incident and in several other parts of the city. One of the cameras captured the moment when the hit man throws the gun with which he shot Alekseyev into the snow,” the FSB stressed
