The costs for issuing passports, as well as delivery times, were recently updated by the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME), at the official rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).
According to information on their official website, the costs for an ordinary passport are: Adults: 216 dollars, for children (3 to 17 years old): 162 dollars and infants (3 months to 2 years): 108 dollars.
On the other hand, the “enabled” procedure (priority care) costs $350 for adults. For minors, rates range from $290 to $310, depending on age. This option requires compliance with specific requirements dictated by the headquarters in Caracas.
The standard passport at regional offices is delivered within 8 to 15 business days after data collection. In contrast, the enabled procedure provides a 48-hour response for physical delivery.
For Venezuelans abroad, SAIME recalled that the deadlines depend on the logistics of sending a diplomatic pouch to each consulate.
The steps to carry out the procedure in the SAIME are as follows:
The user begins with the registration of personal and residence data on the institution's official portal.
In turn, it is essential to verify your birth certificate before making electronic payment through the national bank.
After confirming the payment, the system allows you to choose the office and the date for the face-to-face appointment.
Finally, on the day of the procedure, it is mandatory to present the printed appointment form and the laminated identity card to successfully complete the identification process.
