The ambassador to the United Nations (UN) , Samuel Moncada, denounced that the United States (USA) intends to turn back the clock of history 200 years to impose a colony on Venezuela.

During the High-Level Plenary Meeting to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the declaration on the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples, he said that the recent statements of the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, “are a grotesque offense that violates all norms of civilization. That's colonialism, a crime of aggression.”

In this regard, he specified that “the United States of America is imposing on the State and destruction in international relations .

He also explained that current colonialism “operates with new, but equally pernicious, methods that include economic coercion and the abuse of structural power, the imposition of illegals (...) the illegal or abusive appropriation of natural resources, restrictions on access to markets and services, in particular to technologies and humanitarian goods and medical equipment, interference in internal affairs such as electoral processes and national information spaces, as well as the instrumentation of human rights with country-specific mechanisms established without the proper consent of the State”.
