Scavengers of tragedy! Group calls for “union mobilization” in the midst of earthquake tragedy

While the country is facing hours of pain, anguish and emergency after the seismic event that has left devastated areas with more than 11,000 victims, 14,000 injured and more than 2,000 fatalities, the self-described “Venezuelan trade union collation” has called for a mobilization for this Friday.

The images of the strong impact of these earthquakes and the incessant efforts of national and international rescuers searching for signs of life under thousands of tons of rubble have not been an argument for this call, which under the shield of “ labor claims” is added to the actions of attack against the National Government promoted by laboratories with political interests of destabilization in the midst of the tragedy.

This unprecedented attitude in a country under an emergency situation due to natural catastrophe contradicts the spirit of unity and solidarity demonstrated by Venezuelans who have put all their efforts and attention into supporting the efforts and actions of the Executive and the entire State to save lives and protect those affected.

Currently in the country there are several hundred rescuers from countries that the Venezuelan Government has received regardless of the ideology of its leaders, as a sign that in the face of disaster, solidarity has no political colors or ideologies, an attitude that is not perceived by minorities such as those of this so-called coalition that seeks unscrupulously to climb the pain of a people to do politics.
