Scientific Semillero continues to bring learning and fun to temporary camps

Within the framework of the Venezuela Renace initiative with the National Scientific Semilleros Program, the National Center for Development and Research in Telecommunications Foundation (CENDIT) provided recreational and pedagogical strategies for learning magnetism to children, young people and adults who are housed in temporary camps in Caracas.
According to a press release, those present enjoyed scientific learning through fun dynamics such as the tubotelephone and the compass, where participants make their own magnetic compass with useful materials, while overcoming entertaining cone circuits to collect each of the necessary elements and successfully fulfill the objective.
Leonel Suárez, a teacher in special education and member of the OAC, said that the experience has been rewarding and that the approach of young people is perceived as satisfactory, especially in times of contingency.
“Children smile more easily and do things with that innocence that they have. We at the Cendit Foundation have been very active, not only in the temporary camps, but before; we already had the initiative to go to other stages to participate, collaborate, bring smiles and activities; let's just say that the Cendit Foundation has been a pioneer in the vast majority of the care that has been given,” he said.
In this way, the Cendit Foundation has provided direct care to families housed in the temporary camps of the Tito Salas National Educational Unit and the Mariperez Sports Complex as first visitors. However, the Ministry of Science and Technology projects the attention of 28 camps and approximately 1,680 boys, girls and young people.
The days are carried out using a schedule that details the days of attention by institutions, classified according to the capacities and potentialities of each one in terms of robotics, astronomy, chemistry, production sciences, computer science, telecommunications, ecosocialism, Bolivarian ideology, microscopy, physics and mathematics, as the main axes that structure this comprehensive approach to awaken a scientific vocation, promote critical thinking and ensure meaningful learning in communities affected.
