After the seizure of 2.6 tons of cocaine in the DP World Posorja private port in the province of Guayas, inside a container owned by the company Blasti SA, the investigation revealed a business structure linked to the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa.

In the case, the protection, at multiple levels of national and international entities, of a storage and warehousing company composed of successive layers of companies and shareholders close to Noboa was revealed. In addition, it was announced that the company is managed by Chilean citizen Álvaro Ignacio Guivernau Becker, who also holds management positions in companies in the Noboa conglomerate, including Noboa Trading and the exporter Noboa SA, according to official corporate information.

According to the Telesur web portal, this case is in addition to previous investigations involving Noboa Trading containers with drug shipments, as reported by international anti-corruption organizations, while the Presidency of Ecuador has not commented on business ties or on observations on the development of the judicial process.
