SENADES has held more than 860 workshops on the danger of war video games in 27 schools in Caracas

During the first semester of 2025, the National Service for Disarmament (SENADES) in the Capital District carried out 864 training and preventive activities on video games and the importance of a culture of peace, said Tony Espósito, the coordinator of this institution attached to the Ministry of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.

According to a press release from the Interiors portfolio, Espósito explained that these activities were aimed at 15,552 children and adolescents belonging to 27 educational institutions in 13 parishes in Caracas.

In the same way, he added that, after these talks were held in schools for girls, boys and young people about the risk posed by war video games, fathers, mothers and representatives were invited to such preventive talks, to reinforce prevention of the use of war video games in their respective homes.

For his part, the director general of the National Disarmament Service, C/G Yover Barrios, indicated that the reform of the Law for the Prohibition of War Video Games and War Toys is currently being carried out, with the purpose of providing parents and representatives with training workshops to control this type of entertainment that includes advocacy for war, which could affect the mental stability of girls, boys and adolescents.
