A group of countries announced their withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, after the European Broadcasting Union announced the decision to allow the participation of Israel, a nation questioned by the genocide perpetrated by the Zionist regime of Benjamin Netanyahu against the Palestinian people.

Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Ireland and Iceland announced their protest action during the 95th General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union, which opened this Thursday, December 4 in Geneva.

“The Spanish public television channel RTVE has announced the withdrawal of Spain from the Eurovision Song Contest” after the “permanence of Israel in the European musical competition”, the entity said in a statement quoted by the media outlet France24.

The televisions of the retired countries confirmed that they will not broadcast either the semifinals or the grand final of the competition, which will take place in Vienna on May 16, 2026.
