The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that there will be no foreign military operations in the national territory, in response to statements made by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

“It's not going to happen, in fact later there was a clarification,” the president warned at a press conference.

Sheinbaum recalled that, in several telephone conversations, Trump raised the possibility of armed actions in Mexico. The head of state reiterated that any cooperation is limited to the scope of each country and that interference from external governments is not accepted.

The head of state indicated that the same approach was presented to the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, during his visit to Mexico in September. According to Sheinbaum, the dialogue established coordination mechanisms in respect of Mexican sovereignty.

After Trump's statements, the United States Government itself clarified that any possible intervention would only occur if Mexico requested it. Sheinbaum insisted that such a request will not be made, RT reported.
