With great success, the musicians of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra System began their European tour, after a spectacular performance at the Philharmonie de Paris, in France, in which they received a standing ovation at the two concerts offered last weekend.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the Symphony Orchestra delighted the audience with two choral pieces inspired by nature, composed by maestro José Antonio Abreu and performed by the choral voices of the Paris Orchestra in homage to the founder of the Venezuelan Youth and Children's Orchestra and Choirs System.

In this regard, Maestro Eduardo Méndez emphasized that this concert cycle represents a new milestone in the musical history of the system, since it will once again meet the demanding European audience. “This tour, which will kick off the anniversary celebration, will highlight the orchestra's high artistic level, just as we will have the opportunity to continue expanding the methodology of the System and the first educational activity will be with the Demos Philharmonie program in Paris,” he said.

In addition, he reported that for this important tour they prepared a demanding repertoire with works by Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Abreu, Lorenz, Grau and Ravel. At the same time, he indicated that they will be accompanied by special guests such as the French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebasa, the Chinese pianist Yuja Wang and the Venezuelan cuatrist Jorge Glem.

During their tour, the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra will visit the Barbican Centre in London, the Luxembourg Philharmonie, in Germany the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Isar Philharmoniker in Munich, the Palace of Fine Arts and the Bozar in Brussels and the National Music Auditorium in Madrid.

The visit of the Simón Bolívar Symphony from Venezuela to Europe is the first activity of the events scheduled to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its founding and has the support of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as well as other allies who contribute their grain of sand to the dissemination of national musical talent, inside and outside our borders.
