Soccer player Gleiker Mendoza won the award for the most valuable player of the 2025-2026 season in Ukraine

Venezuelan Gleiker Mendoza won the award for the most valuable player (MVP) of the 2025-2026 season in the Ukrainian Premier League.

Mendoza from FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih became the first Venezuelan to receive that distinction in soccer in that country.

The Venezuelan won the distinction after an outstanding season in which he scored 11 goals in 26 games played.

“There are days that remain forever in memory, and today was one of them. Very happy to start this new phase with my debut and a victory with this great family. In addition, receiving the Best Player award from last tournament made this day even more special,” said the Venezuelan through a post on his Instagram account.

He also said he was very grateful to God, to his family, to his teammates, coaches and to all the people who have trusted him. “This recognition is a motivation to continue working with humility and to always do our best. Let's go for more!” , he added.
