Various sectors of civil society in Portugal organized demonstrations in the cities of Lisbon, Porto and Braga to oppose the US military maneuvers against Venezuela.

During the demonstrations, the participants expressed their disagreement with the situation of President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.
The mobilization was organized by the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC). The call was joined by groups such as the Noise Project, the Women's Democratic Movement (MDM), the Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association, the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers (CGTP-IN) and the Portuguese Communist Party.

The spokespersons of these entities stressed that the reason for the hostilities is Washington's interest in oil fields and other sources of supply in Venezuelan territory. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of the nation's energy resources as the engine of the dispute, Telesur reported.

The meeting ended with explicit support for the sovereignty and self-determination of the Venezuelan people. The groups emphasized the importance of maintaining stability in the Latin American and Caribbean region in the face of external pressures.
