This Monday, January 5, the South African Government filed a complaint with the United Nations Security Council (UN) regarding the kidnapping of the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and the first lady, Cilia Flores, by the United States Government.

The South African delegate stated that the action taken by Washington violates the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Venezuela, according to information provided by Digital Media.

During his speech, the diplomat warned that the fact compromises the credibility of the United Nations Charter and constitutes a precedent affecting the international order.
