The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, participated this Thursday in the Third Meeting of South American Foreign Ministers, through videoconference, to address a joint agenda for the well-being of the peoples of the region.

Through his account on the social network X, the Venezuelan diplomat highlighted that this is “a space for dialogue and integration between South American nations that aims to establish a joint agenda to promote prosperity, strengthen relations and promote peace in the region.”

Last September 2023, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries of South America met in New York, in the context of the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), where they addressed issues of the common regional agenda and evaluated the fulfillment of the commitments made at a previous meeting in Brazil.

These meetings are an extensive part of the one held in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, at the end of May 2023, in which the 12 South American presidents participated, who presented their views and perspectives for cooperation and integration, in what was called the Brasilia Consensus, where the region reaffirmed its pacifist spirit.
