This Thursday, the Spanish Congress approved the amnesty law agreed by the Government and the independence parties of Catalonia, with a balance of 178 votes in favor and 172 against; giving way to the restoration of political rights to those involved in the secessionist process that took place in 2017 in the Catalan autonomous community.
The law was approved with favorable votes from the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (USSR), Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) and J unts per Catalunya (Junts).
The next step corresponds to its analysis in the Senate, where obstacles already announced by the People's Party (PP) would await it.
On February 6, the rule was successfully processed in the Justice Commission, to which it returned after differences between the USSR and Junts, which were overcome after both forces agreed on an amendment. On Thursday, they voted against the PP, the far-right Vox, the Union of the Navarro People (UPN) and the Canarian Coalition.
