This Saturday, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Spain held an event commemorating the 215th anniversary of the beginning of the independence struggle, from the Parque del Oeste in Madrid, a floral offering was made to the equestrian statue of Simon Bolivar.

Ambassador Gladys Gutiérrez Alvarado was accompanied by the Venezuelan Consul General in Madrid, Nancy Lira Ochoa, the Defense Attaché, Vice Admiral Agustín Fernández, and other representatives of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission.

Gutiérrez highlighted the historical significance of April 19, 1810, the date that marked the beginning of the Venezuelan independence process, and stressed that the legacy of the heroes is still in force, which inspires a commitment to sovereignty and self-determination.
