This Wednesday, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, paused his official agenda and announced that he will evaluate the continuity of his administration, after the complaints against his wife, Begoña Gómez.

“All of this leads me to tell him that I will continue working but that I will cancel my public agenda, so that I can reflect and decide what path to take,” Sánchez wrote in a public letter that he shared on his X account.

Sánchez's announcement comes hours after a Madrid court opened preliminary proceedings against Gómez to investigate her relations with companies that received funds and signed public contracts with the administration led by her husband, El Confidencial announced last Monday.

The complaint was filed by the far-right organization Manos Limpias, which in its statutes is defined as a union, although it is not known of any union action.
