The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, “categorically” condemned the military aggression of the United States (USA) against Venezuela, which led to the kidnapping of the constitutional president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the first lady, Cilia Flores.

He also specified that the US attack against Venezuela violates international law. At the same time, he said that the world and particularly the West “seem determined to return us to that terrible past from which it took us almost a century to get out of”.

He condemned the fact that US actions seek to disturb the peace and development of sovereign countries. “They seem to want to persuade us that the era of peace and progress has passed,” he said and noted that with this they seem to seek the “regression dictated by the ultra-right international with the complicity of the traditional right”.
