The state co-spokesperson of the Spanish left-wing party Podemos, Pablo Fernández, called on the international community to “isolate” the President of the United States, Donald Trump for the military aggression against Venezuela.
As reported by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Fernández indicated that the US president “has stated, both with his deeds and with his words, that the only thing that interests him in this Latin American country is its oil and its natural resources.”
Fernández recalled that “after Venezuela, Trump has already threatened to have something similar in Mexico, Cuba, Colombia or Greenland,” and noted that “the rest of the world already knows that if Trump considers doing any type of similar military operation in any of these places, he will do it and will stop at nothing.”
Faced with this situation, Fernández stressed that “Spain must immediately break all relations with the United States and must leave NATO”. The Spanish politician stressed that “not doing so would be the same as legitimating and endorsing internationally this new model of brutality and permanent war imposed by Donald Trump on the entire world, in which membership in NATO is no longer a guarantee that the US will not invade you”.
