Special Commission ratifies the validity of the Amnesty Act

The Special Commission for Monitoring the Amnesty Law remains in full force and that requests continue to be received, reported its president, Deputy Jorge Arreaza, through his social networks.

Arreaza noted that the Act has benefited practically all people whose cases could be covered by its provisions, in accordance with the criteria established in the legal text and applied by the organs of the justice system.

He explained that, once this universe of cases had been addressed, the Presidency of the Republic opened alternative ways to review situations that are not contemplated within the scope of the Amnesty Law, in order to evaluate possible care mechanisms.

The deputy reiterated that the process is still active and that the competent institutions maintain the channels enabled to receive new requests.
