The Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, part of the Permanent Commission on Security and Defense of the Nation, debated this Tuesday on the participation of women in different spheres, as well as in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces.

In this regard, the deputy Crismari Parada (PSUV/Cojedes) said that standards for the protection of women's human rights are necessary tools for the defense of their political participation.

He added that Commander Hugo Chávez vindicated and made women visible, providing them with tools such as the laws that the AN has enacted to defend their rights.

In this regard, Deputy Parada indicated that with the arrival of Commander Chávez, women were vindicated through policies and programs necessary to maintain their status from every trench, such as the home and the workplace. “We, women, have had to work hard to make our work visible; for this reason, women occupy important places in the Bolivarian Revolution, mayors, governors,” she said.

He commented that they will continue to raise the flags of women's struggle for their demands and to ensure that equal values always prevail in Venezuela for their defense.
