Sugarcane growers in the country estimate to grind, during 2025, between 4.8 million and five million tons of sugar cane, said the president of the Venezuelan Sugarcane Growers Association (Fesoca), José Ricardo Álvarez.

According to statements given to the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, Álvarez said that this year's harvest is estimated to cover up to 65% of sugar production consumed in the country.

In this regard, compared to last year, Fesoca previously reported that 4.9 million tons of sugar cane were ground in all sugar mills in Venezuela.

Meanwhile, Soca Portuguesa and the Portuguese Sugar Plant reached 500,000 tons of sugar cane during the 2024-2025 harvest. He noted that this entire production cycle began recently at the Sicarigua farm in Central La Pastora, in the state of Lara, one of the most profitable.
