The crew members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, kidnapped by Israeli authorities when they illegally intercepted humanitarian ships as they tried to break the Israeli maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip, were transferred to Saharonim prison in southern Israel.

The Flotilla's legal team reported this Friday that the transfer of the 473 humanitarian activists to prison is the number of passengers who were on the ships at the time they were boarded.

After being sent to prison, in the Negev desert, activists are expected to be deported to their countries of origin.

In the first case, they will be taken to the airport to catch a deportation flight and in the second a judicial proceeding will be opened in which a judge will decide whether or not to be deported.

From Wednesday night and for twelve hours, the Israeli Navy boarded the more than 40 ships that made up the Flotilla, of which only the Marinette continued to sail, which was intercepted this Friday.
