Surgical Day benefited 150 people from Barinas with cataracts

A total of 150 people from Barinas, from different municipalities in the state of Llanero, recovered their sense of sight, after undergoing surgery in the third phase of cataract surgery, performed at the facilities of the Health Foundation (Funsalud) in the Barinas municipality.

According to a press release from the Health portfolio, these procedures were performed free of charge, by recruiting patients through the VenApp application, of the 1X10 of Good Governance. With these interventions, 305 successful operations to correct cataracts have been performed in the state of Barinas to date.

Dr. Andreína Rodríguez, the entity's Single Health Authority, stressed that this operation was carried out in conjunction with the teams of the Misión Milagro Foundation, Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MinSalud), Funsalud, State Health Directorate, Visual Health Program and other entities, in order to guarantee optimal care for the patient and increase their well-being.

Rodríguez also emphasized that, “with love, commitment and desire to improve patients' quality of life, a multidisciplinary team of specialists and staff from the National Public Health System (SPNS) fulfilled their mission to bring the greatest possible amount of happiness to the people.”
