The Pueblo Sano Foundation, chaired by Marilyn Velásquez, reported that a total of 63 patients underwent surgery in different medical specialties during a surgical day performed in Yaracuy state.
The activity was framed after the 166th anniversary of the foundation of the entity.
“There is no better way to celebrate these dates in our history than working to improve the quality of life of our surgical patients and reduce the state's surgical debt,” he said.
The day was held in the operating rooms of the Yaracuy Central Hospital, where they performed 9 surgeries in the specialty of Traumatology and 8 in General Surgery.
While at the Pediatric Hospital, 22 patients were operated on in the specialty of Pediatric Surgery.
The day culminated with the intervention of 24 additional patients in the specialty of Traumatology, also at the Central Hospital.
Velásquez stressed that this social program, created by Governor Julio León Heredia, continues to provide timely responses to the surgical needs of the population, framed in the National Public Health System and aligned with the social policies of President Nicolás Maduro, according to a press release from the Government of Yaracuy.
