Venezuelan tennis players Roxy González, Camila Obando, Dakota Ferrer and Cristina Gómez qualified for the London 2026 World Table Tennis Championships, after ranking among the best in the ranking of the International Table Tennis Federation and secured direct entry.

The Venezuelan women stood out in a MINDEPORTES press release, they performed well during the development of the international season, ranking Gómez 225, Ferrer 359, Obando 443 and González 451, after having accumulated key points in world tournaments, while consolidating themselves as references for women's table tennis in the country.

These athletes are competing in the WTT Feeder Vila Nova de Gaia 2025 in Portugal. In the individual category, Gómez beat Argentina's Ana Codina 3-1, and she has to face the Croatian Ivana Malobabic, 113 in the world ranking, in a round of 32.

The Venezuelan Table Tennis Federation highlighted the efforts of the athletes, as well as the technical and strategic work that has strengthened this sport this year.

For his part, César Castillo led group five of the men's singles with three games won and six points, beating the Maltese Felix Wetzel 3-1 in his first match, repeated the dose against Brazil's Joon Shim 3-1 and also beat South Korean K im Daewoo 3-2.

In the next qualifying round, he yielded to Croatia's Frane Kojic 3-1 and was left with no chance of advancing to the round of 64.
