Teatro de la Ópera de Maracay began auditions for the December production of The Nutcracker

The Maracay Opera Theater (TOM) formally began the process of auditions and preparation for the staging of the Christmas classic The Nutcracker, a production that will be presented next December, and which this year will implement an innovative regional artistic recruitment methodology.

Sendy Romero, president of the Maracay Opera Theater Foundation, reported -through a press release- that this new modality seeks to integrate the talent of classical and neoclassical dancers from all over the Aragua state into a unified project, unlike previous years, where each school presented its variations independently.

Romero explained that the show will be executed in a strategic alliance with the entity's renowned classical dance teacher, Linda Jelambi, who will assume the technical direction and assembly of the piece and the Aragua State Symphony Orchestra, directed by maestro Enyerly Guzmán, guaranteeing completely live music.

Romero emphasized that “we are talking about a process of inclusion where we aspire to have more than 100 dancers and actors on stage, covering children, youth and adult categories.”

Finally, Romero said that this piece will represent the institution's third own production, in addition to the next musical premiere of “Peter Pan” to be held on September 27 and 28 and the tropical music magazine Latin Show Club.
