This Saturday morning, the Government of Iran reported a new terrorist attack, this time against its consulate in the Syrian city of Aleppo. These are clashes between Syrian government forces and radical groups in the area.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, quoted by international agencies, strongly condemned the aggression launched by armed factions against their diplomatic representation, pointing out that the Consul General and the staff are out of danger.

Baghaei recalled that the 1963 Vienna Convention prohibits any attack on consular buildings and rejected the violation of this agreement by any person, group or government.

The spokespersons stated that Tehran will seriously denounce this attack through legal and international means.
