Teresa Carreño Theater will present Ballet Gala in homage to Adriana Estrada

The Teresa Carreño Theater Ballet will return to the Ríos Reina room with the stage proposal Gala de Ballet, a performance dedicated to evoking the evolution of the movement in homage to the memory of the teacher Adriana Estrada.

The gala, entitled “Academicism and Modernity”, will cover different languages of ballet. The repertoire will include:

• The adage of the rose from the ballet Sleeping Beauty, as a representation of the academic classic.

• Works by the master Vicente Nebrada, including Our Waltzes, Double Cork and The Moon and the Children He Had, as a sample of the neoclassical period.

• The world premiere of the contemporary piece Ánima, by Inés Rojas.

The show will be accompanied by the Francisco de Miranda Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of guest conductor Daniel Gil.

The performances are scheduled for Saturday, October 17 at 4:00 p.m., while on Sunday, October 18, there will be a double function, at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
